Dear World,
Today I feel ALIVE. I am filled with excitement. I just discussed my plans with an old friend. It has brought back something in me that has been quiet for so long.
I begin this blog today, although there is nothing really special about today, other than I feel like a kid again, I even thought about dyeing my whites red :)
For those who know nothing about me, it has been my dream to have an orphanage one day. I was a child of a broken home and ached to have a father. I felt terrible for all those children who had no parents at all. I day dreamed about this orphanage often, but I always thought it would be something I would do when I retire, when I'm done with life. But two years ago, I was asked : "What would you do, if you had no fear?". I knew in that moment I had to go back to Pakistan and start that orphanage.
So I'm off with my family (one husband, three children and a dog) to Lahore, Pakistan. My mother has made this dream of mine her dream and has bought me 3.75 acres of farm land right next to the city. The plan is to build an off the grid home and orphanage, to grow organically, sustainably and be happy. I also have some serious cake making skills and am artistically inclined, so I'm going to have a Cake Shop too. My husband David has always been interested in growing food, so he's going to do what he loves. My kids love animals and are planning to hang out with some goats, sheep, chickens and bunnies. We just may have a little piece of heaven here on earth.
Wish us luck and success!

I found this pictures of me last week. These are of me in an orphanage in Jamaica in 2000. This sweet kid on my right would not let go of me and all the while he smiled. I think that if I was able I would have taken him home with me... letting go was very hard for both of us.
